Make a difference with us.
July 20-25, 2025
Spending a week with Royal Family KIDS during the summer can truly create an eternal difference in the lives of children in foster care. We invite you to explore the various volunteer roles below. We are seeking to add dedicated volunteers to our team so we can expand our reach and serve an even greater number of deserving children. Your involvement could be pivotal in transforming lives.
Camp Volunteer Roles
-
Big Campers
Our “big campers” are our camp counselors. Each big camper is paired with 2 kids for the entire week.
-
Cousins
Cousins offer support to the big campers and kids. They are assigned a cabin group to spend the week with.
-
Chapel Team
Our chapel team spends the mornings leading our drama, songs, and bible stories. In the afternoon they are paired with cabin groups to support and participate in activities.
-
Aunts and Uncles
Our camp aunts and uncles add the dimension of extended family to camp. They are assigned a cabin group to support for the week. Our aunts and uncles can be found helping out wherever needed most during the week.
-
Grandmas and Grandpas
Our camp grandmas and grandpas add the dimension of extended family to camp. They are often found running our Grandmas Games and Grandpas Garage activity stations. They are also our best bedtime story tellers!
-
Nursing Team
Our nursing team is responsible for ensuring health and safety for everyone at camp. They work as a team to treat any illness and injuries as well as administer medications at camp.
-
Photographers
Our photographers capture memories for our campers during they week. They ensure that each camper has 10-12 photos to put in a memory book and take home with them at the end of the week.
-
Activities
Our activities team runs special activities and events throughout the week. Some of our activities include crafts, fishing, a royal banquet, and birthday party.
-
Therapy Team
Our therapy team consists of 4-6 professionals who have experience in working with kids from hard places. The team works together to support the emotional and behavioral needs of our campers.
FAQs
-
This is the #1 question we get from prospective volunteers. We do not publicize the location of camp for the safety and security of our campers. Once volunteers are background checked and complete training, we will share the location. Camp is within driving distance of the communities we serve, and transportation is provided to volunteers if requested.
-
Each summer we have a team of 100+ volunteers serving together. Just like in our name, we are a family out at camp. We work as a team to provide a week of safety, hope, and fun to the campers.
-
Our camp facilities are updated (and air conditioned). The “big campers” stay with our campers in the cabins. The other staff has dorm or hotel style housing for week. All meals and housing are included for the week. We do ask volunteers to help us fundraise to cover those costs.
-
We ask volunteers to partner with us in fundraising to cover their costs to serve. Royal Family KIDS Camp is free for kids to attend. We raise money year-round to be able to provide this program to the community. Having our volunteers partner with us in fundraising to cover their food and housing costs for the week makes our programs sustainable. We provide resources and tools to help volunteers meet their fundraising goals. We never want this to be the reason someone doesn’t volunteer. If you have additional concerns, please reach out and we would be happy to work with you further!
